Obituary for Robert Rothmann

Robert Rothmann
Robert Rothmann was born and grew up in Yonkers, NY. He attended local elementary and high schools, finishing his education at the NY School of Floral Design, SUNY Farmingdale.

In 1965, Bob established a successful and respected floral business in Eastchester, "Roberts For Flowers." He retired from the business in 1997.

Bob was the Senior Warden of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Eastchester. He had always been active in his church and had served his community as well - he was a past President of Eastchester's Rotary Club and he served on the boards of: EVAC, The Eastchester-Tuckahoe Chamber of Commerce, The Eastchester Beautification Foundation and The Bronxville-Eastchester-Tuckahoe Community Fund. Bob served on the Advisory Council of The Chapel School, participated in DARE programs and The Midnight Run. Volunteer for Amtrak National Park Service Trails and Rails Program.

Among the awards he has received are The Rotary International Governors Award for Children's Relief (Hurricane Andrew), The Eastchester Rotary Presidents Award, the Ursuline School St. Angela Award, and the Person of the Year Award Eastchester Chamber of Commerce, Bronxville-Eastchester-Tuckahoe Community Fund.

After retiring, Bob spent quality time working on his garden model railroad. And, not being one to sit around, he joined the staff of Floral Works at The Westchester Funeral Home as their in-house florist. He found his work very rewarding, especially when he was able to assist families and friends he had known over the years in Eastchester.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary Lou, daughter Lee and her wife Heather and three grandchildren.

Interment was private.
