Obituary for Jacqueline Ann Henwood

Jacqueline Ann Henwood
JACQUELINE HENWOOD, a retired nurse and longtime resident of Tuckahoe, N.Y. passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 22, 2016, at age 80.
Jackie was born March 7, 1936 in Salisbury, Maryland to John C. Peters and Mathile Ryan Peters. Jackie is survived by her husband Joseph, and her children Joseph Jr., Kevin, Jacqueline and her husband Thomas Houlihan, Mary Henwood and her partner Susan Williamson. Jackie was the proud grandmother to Shannon and Kristie Houlihan. She is also survived by her sister Joan and husband Michael Debany, her brother John C. Peters and wife Vivian, her youngest sister Joyce Peters and many nieces and nephews.
Jackie “Pete” attended Immaculate Conception School and then graduated from Eastchester High School class of 1954. At a young age she naturally had a way of caring for people leading her to pursue her nursing career at White Plains Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1957. Jacqueline’s leadership, love of helping, healing, and her spiritual love for the church guided her through her beautiful, vivacious life. Jackie was our Nightingale, ‘Lady with the wings,’ who flew to NYC for midnight runs, cooked meals for H.O.P.E in New Rochelle, volunteered for Hospice and was involved with Adoration at IHM and started and managed Adoration at ICC from 2008-2016. She also was a Eucharistic Minister and was instrumental in the creation of The Divine Mercy at Immaculate Conception Church.
Jackie was passionate and dedicated to her many causes for the church and still found the time and energy to be the most devoted mother to her children. She always brought laughter and life to her beloved friends and strangers along her busy planned days.
