Obituary for Henry H. Hess

Henry Hank H. Hess passed away November 3, 2015 at the age of 73 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 23/24 1942 in Yonkers, NY to Julia (Uebelacker) and Jacob Hess. Hank grew up in Mount Vernon before moving to Yonkers at the age of 16 were he would spend the rest of his life. He was a Funeral Director for over fifty years working in many funeral homes as operations manager until his retirement in 2009. On November 23, 1963 he married the love of his life Joan Paternostro in the Bronx, they were married for 46 years 4 months and 3 days when she passed away. He was very active in his community belonging to many clubs starting with Henry S. Richards Youth Club for thirteen years and was elected into the Hall of Fame. He was also very active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts as Scout master and Trip Chairman. He was a Past President and Board and Charter Member of Sprain Lake Knolls Civic Association, a member of Morris Park Association and CEO of Fradeli''s in Yonkers. He loved camping, bowling 40''s and 50''s music, and baseball and was the NY Mets Biggest Fan. He is survived by his two loving sons Paul (Carmen) and Tommy (Peggy), 6 adoring grandchildren Alex, Ryan, Eliana, Nanci, Keara and Samantha, and great grandson Tyler, his beloved brother Jack (Carol) and sister Louise Knapp, his dear friend Debbie Achilli and many nieces and nephews whom he loved . He was pre-deceased by his brother Albert. Visitation will be Friday 4-8 pm at Westchester Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be 11:30 am Saturday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Calvary Hospital Calvary Fund 1740 Eastchester Rd. Bronx, NY 10461
