Achille "Gil"  Aliberto
Achille D. "Gil" Aliberto, 91, of Eastchester, passed away on June 13, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Agnes. Loving father of Antoinette (Michael) Martino, Angela (Michael) DiStasi, Agnes Aliberto, Gil (Lori) Aliberto, Jacqueline (the late Louis) Bellantoni, and the late Christine Walter. Cherished grandfather of Michael (Katie) Martino, Stephanie Martino, Christine DiStasi, Angela (Joseph) Farrell, Gregory (Christie) Walter, Nicole, Christopher, and Julia Aliberto, Louis, Joseph, and Nicholas Bellantoni; and great grandfather of Dashiell and Hunter Farrell. Dear brother of Anthony (the late Nancy) Aliberto of Eastchester, Linda (Michael) Verde of Mahopac, and the late Nancy (Joseph) Tedeschi.
Gil was born on June 25, 1923 to the late Alfonso and Antoinette DeMatteo Aliberto in Tuckahoe. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Agnes Lepore on July 5, 1953. They were married 60 years when she died December 12, 2013. Together they made the most of their retired years, spending their winters as snowbirds in Stuart, FL and summers on their porch in Wildwood, NJ. They treasured these Camelot years surrounded by family and friends. Gil retired as Assistant Chief of the Eastchester Fire Department in 1985 after 32 years of service. He will be remembered and cherished for his love of his family, his smile and his laugh.
The family will receive friends at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Monday 4-8pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday June 17th at 11:30AM at Assumption Church, Tuckahoe. Interment to follow at Holy Mount Cemetery.
