Bob left Syracuse in 1946 to join his mother and brother in a local family owned grocery store known as Central Market, which they operated for 35 years. He was also a Board member of Bahama Bend in Coconut Creek, FL, where he resided for the last 15 years . After he and his wife divorced in 1979, Bob was blessed to have met Florence Torreggiani, his long time love of almost 30 years. Florence and her four daughters embraced Bob and he became an important part of their family. Bob is survived by his son, 3 daughters and 1 son in-law, Florence, her 4 daughters and 2 son in-laws, 7 grand children and 1 great grandchild. He will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving him. I remember Bob has having been a very supportive, loud, knowledgeable manager for our women's softball team!! He always had some coaching tips for me on how to pitch for the next batters. Those days for me were so much fun...

I am sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. I came accross this poem and wanted to share it with you. All Is Well

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped into the next room I am I and you are you Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, Speak to me in the easy way which you always used Put no difference in your tone, Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It it the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, Just around the corner. All is well.
